Aurish Store began in Kanpur — the city that has tanned and stitched leather for India for over a century. What started as a small family workshop is now a manufacturing partner for buyers who want handmade quality at export scale, without losing the hand of the craftsman in the final product.

A team of designers, tanners and stitchers working out of Kanpur, producing sling bags, duffels, briefcases and backpacks for retailers and importers abroad.

Full-grain & vegetable-tanned leather
We work with genuine buffalo and cow leather, tanned and finished by artisans in Kanpur — the material ages into a richer patina with every year of use.
Hand-cut, hand-stitched construction
No two panels are cut by machine alone. Edges are burnished, seams are saddle-stitched, and hardware is set by hand at every workbench.

Aurish Store's growth is tied to the wellbeing of the karigars (artisans) and the Kanpur community that make every bag possible. These are the principles we hold ourselves to.
Fair wages & safe workshops
Every stitcher and tanner we work with is paid fairly and works in a safe, ventilated workshop with proper equipment and rest hours.
Training the next generation
We run on-the-job training for young karigars in Kanpur, passing down leathercraft skills that are otherwise fading from the trade.
Responsible material sourcing
Leather and canvas are sourced from registered local tanneries and mills, avoiding unregulated or unethical suppliers.
Making full use of every hide
Offcuts are reused for smaller accessories and pouches wherever possible, reducing leather waste from every production run.
Investing in Bithoor Road
A share of our export earnings supports local causes in the Baikunthpur and Bithoor Road neighbourhood where our workshop is based.
